Norris continues stunning streak amid world championship success

Norris won the 2025 World Drivers' Championship at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The British driver crossed the finish line in third place, and finished the campaign two points ahead of Max Verstappen.

At the Yas Marina Circuit, the British driver also confirmed that he extended his streak of outqualifying his teammates throughout his career.

In his first two seasons, in 2019 and 2020, Norris defeated Carlos Sainz 11-10 and 9-8 respectively.

He was then more dominant against his next teammate, Daniel Ricciardo. He outperformed him in 2021 by 15-7, and then was clearly the faster driver in 2022, being quicker on 20 of 22 occasions in qualifying that year.

After Norris had built up a record of 35-11 against Piastri during their first two campaigns together, the Australian could cut the gap considerably to his teammate in 2025. In the end, their qualifying duel finished 13-11 last year.

Winning the title will not come cheap for the McLaren driver. The cost of the F1 Super License is based on the points scored by a competitor together with the base fee.

Two drivers, Norris and Verstappen have reached the million mark to obtain a Super License for the 2026 season.
