Let’s take a look back at the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix as we get ready to see the cars hit the track again this weekend.
Lando Norris converted his Saturday pole into a flawless start, holding off Max Verstappen into Turn 1 with the two Mercedes cars slotting in behind, while teammate Oscar Piastri settled into fifth.
The Briton immediately stamped his authority on the race, stringing together a series of rapid laps to pull several seconds clear of Verstappen before the pit stops.
On lap 30, just before his stop, Norris had a scare with a small mistake that nearly compromised his race, though he managed to avoid the barriers. Fifteen laps later, however, he did brush the wall lightly—but once again escaped without damage.
Behind him, Piastri mounted an impressive charge, first dispatching Hamilton and then Russell to put his MCL38 firmly on the podium.
Norris eventually took the checkered flag more than 20 seconds ahead of Verstappen, sealing one of the most commanding victories of the season.
The final podium featured Norris ahead of Verstappen and Piastri, with Russell in fourth. Charles Leclerc claimed fifth place after edging past Hamilton in the closing laps, salvaging a top-five finish from what had been a challenging weekend for Ferrari.
