It has been reported that a new contract for Formula 1 to continue racing at Monza is "on track" to be signed in the near future. The Italian Grand Prix is a historic race and the circuit is one which Formula 1 will be looking to hold onto. However, it has been reported that a "formal signature" is still missing meaning that the deal is yet to be done.
“I hope that it will be signed by July,” Aci president Angelo Sticchi Damiani said to La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Let’s say we are on the right track.”
It is thought that a contract is “practically concluded”, with an announcement likely to be made “after the summer break” according to the Italian Newspaper.
Monza is one of the most iconic Grand Prix's on the calendar and it is expected to continue to be part of the sport for years to come.
