As the sport continues to accelerate globally, the team's leadership structure is evolving to ensure responsibilities are distributed efficiently across the senior leadership group, reflecting the model seen across much of the grid," the team shared.

Lord joined Mercedes in April 2013 as Communications Manager, before being promoted to Head of F1 Communications in September 2014.

He then stepped up to Mercedes-Benz Motorsport Communications Director in February 2017, followed by a further promotion to Strategic Communications Director in July 2021.

In April 2023, he was appointed Team Representative & Chief Communications Officer, a role he held until receiving a further promotion.

"With the growth of our team and F1, the scope of our operations and associated responsibilities at a senior level has grown significantly. We have therefore taken this opportunity to put in place a change that has effectively been operating in practice for some time," Wolff commented on the news.
