McLaren junior Alex Dunne claimed pole position for Sunday's feature race in Formula 2. Ritomo Miyata finished in second place, while Roman Stanek rounded off the Top 3.
After the first runs in the 30-minute-long qualifying session of the weekend, it was McLaren junior Alex Dunne who led the session with a 1:57.8 ahead of two Italian drivers, Leonardo Fornaroli and Gabriele Mini.
Still, there was plenty of time to find this session, as the conditions continued to improve. With around two minutes to go, the Irishman improved his fastest time by nearly seven tenths.
That is also important in terms of the championship, as he earns a further two points in the drivers' standings for claiming pole position. That means he is now 12 points behind Verschoor in the standings.
For the Dutchman, it was a day to forget, as he finished only in P11. Currently second in the championship, American Jak Crawford set the 14th fastest time only.
Red Bull talent Arvid Lindblad finished in P5, one position ahead of his teammate Pepe Martí.
The 'sprint pole' went to Oliver Goether, who finished in tenth place today.
