Verstappen also gets 'penalty' during livestream: 'Max, we're watching you'

After the latest tripleheader, Max Verstappen is not resting. The Dutchman is currently taking part in 'The Race for Mental Health', a 23-hour race that raises money for charity. The normal rules do not apply for this race, something that becomes more evident below.

Unlike in a normal sim race, fans and viewers get to 'buy' penalties for the competitors for making a donation. During his first stint, the Dutchman was a popular choice. Moreover, a viewer calling himself Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), kept buying penalties for Verstappen.

"Stop and go penalty for car #1," was the first message from the so-called (and unofficial) 'FIA'. Later, the Red Bull Racing driver received another stop and go, bought by the same user, with the message: "Max, you used language that was coarse and offensive for broadcast, so it's another stop and go for car 1. Community service is next - we're watching."

Verstappen is unaware of any wrongdoing. “Why am I being singled out?!” the three-time world champion wonders. The sim race will continue until 2 p.m. CET and can be watched here.
