At 14:00 GMT / 15:00 CET, 'The Race for Mental Health' gets underway. Max Verstappen is also racing, despite taking some time off, before the F1 season resumes in Las Vegas in two weeks time. You can follow the sim race with the Dutchman competing via this stream, but when Verstappen will get behind the wheel is still unknown.
The name says it all. There will be racing to bring attention to mental health. The previous edition, one year ago, the reigning world champion in Formula 1 also participated. Viewers can expect chaotic safety cars and “buyable penalties” during the sim race.

Who is organizing the sim race with Verstappen?

The event is organized by Jimmy Broadbent. This is one of the most famous sim race streamers. At the age of 13, he lost his father. Broadbent has always been candid about the struggles with his mental issues. Verstappen also competed in the 2023 23-hour race, but did so incognito. Only during the racing did Broadbent find out that Verstappen was participating, who also donated a large sum of money.
