The FIA's statement on the Ferrari engine has kept us all busy and interested ahead of the start of the 2020 season. Max Verstappen famously called out the team for cheating and the Red Bull Racing driver has now been asked for his thoughts on the situation.
After the 2019 American Grand Prix, Verstappen said that Ferrari were no longer able to win because they had stopped cheating. The Dutchman took a lot os stick for these comments but it seems he may have been correct.
Seven Formula 1 teams criticized the way the FIA handled the situation and here is what Verstappen had to say.
"I leave the answers to the team. I'm not going to participate in that anymore, but it seems clear to me that you want to have a level playing field in every sport," Verstappen told Sky Sports.
The FIA has doubts about the legality of the Ferrari engine, but does not want to / cannot enter a long legal process. We will soon find out what the other seven teams think about this.
