Red Bull will start Sunday's race in Hungary from P11 and P10. Qualifying was a disgrace for the team and advisor Dr Helmut Marko stressed that in Hungary it would be extra difficult to rectify a bad Saturday.

Marko sees few opportunities for Sunday

Sergio Perez fell short in Q2 and was eliminated. The Mexican initially lost his fastest time and had to sit again to set a competitive time. In his out lap Perez suddenly got his time back, but it was not enough to advance to Q2. He also did not improve his time. For Max Verstappen it went wrong in Q3. The Dutchman braked in his first run and therefore had to do it in a final run. His second run in Q3 did not happen as there were engine problems with his RB18.
Marko sounds frustrated and seems to see few chances for tomorrow's race. Speaking to Sky Sports' German branch, he says: "Singapore, Monaco and this track are the three circuits where you really don't want something like this. We need a lot of luck." On what happened with Verstappen on board, the Austrian has little to say. But he does share what everyone else saw: "In the first run of Q3 he made a braking error and wasted his front tyres. In the second run, the full engine power was not available."
