After a good qualification on Saturday, Charles Leclerc's Sunday ended prematurely. The Ferrari driver wanted to make a move towards the podium place, but ended up clipping Sergio Perez and as a result, Max Verstappen was also eliminated.
"I tried to brake a bit later than Max did to overtake him and I expected Checo to stay on the outside of Valtteri. This didn't happen, but I don't think he is to blame. It's more unfortunate than a guilty party," Leclerc said on Ziggo Sport.
"I was a bit optimistic in turn four, but nothing crazy happened. I braked myself when I saw him come in and then I was a passenger."

Conversation with Verstappen

"I wanted to know what had happened to him because I saw that I had not been in contact with anyone else," said Leclerc about the conversation he had directly with Verstappen after the crash.
