Leclerc looks back on difficult period of season: 'Super frustrating'

Charles Leclerc feels Ferrari has made positive steps toward the new season in recent months. According to the driver, the team needs to put the difficult period in 2022 behind them and mainly look ahead. He tells Formule1.nl.

The Monegasque felt in the early stages of the season that he could compete for the world title, but soon had to give up this dream. Individually, strategically and technically, Ferrari went wrong on several occasions, so after the summer the focus quickly turned to the new racing year.

Leclerc acknowledges that in his driving role, dealing with the situation was not easy. In the middle of the season, for instance, he found it frustrating that mistakes were being made and he saw the world title getting further away. "That was super frustrating," admits Leclerc.

However, he is trying to release this feeling by looking at Ferrari's chances. In terms of decision-making and strategy, he saw the formation improving, while plans with the car are also positive. "In the end, we just have to learn from all the mistakes we made this year," he finished.
