Charles Leclerc insists he 'always thinks there is more pace' even if he secured pole position for the Miami Grand Prix. The man from Monaco recorded his third pole position in the 2022 season as he continues his bid for the World Championship.

Ferrari on top

Ferrari managed to beat Red Bull Racing on pure pace. Whilst Christian Horner insisted the RB car will be better in the race, Leclerc also suggests that he fells as ease with his red machinery.
"The car felt good. The lap I did a mistake in the first sector which cost me quite a bit and then it was all about trying to catch up. So, I pushed quite a lot after that and the lap came together. I feel at ease with the car. It's a car that you have to think a lot to go fast but for now I feel at ease," Leclerc told Sky Sports.
"It's good to start on pole but we need to finish the job tomorrow. I always think that there is more pace wherever I finish a quali but we are starting on pole anyway."

Hardly any of the drivers managed to gather long-run data in the second free practice session. This was because the session was littered with red flags. All teams will be in the dark including the front runners. Leclerc hopes that having his teammate alongside him on the front row will help him combat an attacking Dutchman.
