Daniel Ricciardo made his return to
Formula 1 last weekend. Despite being hampered at the start of the race, the AlphaTauri driver was still able to finish ahead of teammate
Yuki Tsunoda. Former
Formula 1 driver
Jan Lammers looks back at Ricciardo's
Hungarian Grand Prix.
"I thought he did fine. Of course, it was also a lesser weekend for Yuki, because he still had some problems. Here and there you also hear people saying: 'we have to give Ricciardo time', but I don't think so. You've also had a year when you haven't driven at all or less. Well, on the second lap you already feel like you never left," the former Formula 1 driver said.
Ricciardo gets high expectations
"I think Ricciardo does get right in the saddle. We can expect everything from that right away. At next races it won't look as easy as it does now, but I do think he will have a good effect on the whole team and also on Tsunoda," Lammers said.
Ricciardo was the replacement for the underperforming
Nyck de Vries. The Dutchman had to give up his Formula 1 seat next to Tsunoda to
Red Bull Racing driver Ricciardo.
