It would be a "no brainer" for Bottas to stay on at Mercedes in 2021

Valtteri Bottas has suggested if he is to stay in Formula 1 beyond next season and into 2021 he would prefer to do it with Mercedes if the decision had to be made now.

The Finn is entering his fourth season as a Mercedes driver and teammate to Lewis Hamilton. After the best performing season of his career in 2019 the former-Williams driver held onto his seat for 2020.

After a tough 2018 which saw him win no races, Bottas looks to be back on track. With several drivers' contracts up next season the Finn is excited by what next season has to offer and suggested where he wants his F1 future to be.

"I think it's going to be an interesting season for sure," Bottas said as quoted by GPToday.net.

"I can't remember a time where so many people are expiring with contracts. Of course, me, like every other driver will look at all the possible options.

"Now, if I could decide on my future for 2021 it would be a no brainer to continue with this team. I really enjoy it here, we are performing better and better and I am becoming a better driver all of the time."
