Horner: "Vettel has a lot of weight on his shoulders right now"

Sebastian Vettel is not doing well this season. Several times he crossed the finish line outside the points, the Ferrari is not good enough and he also lost his seat after this season. What's more, the German is under a magnifying glass because he's not performing at a high level and what is he going to do after this season? Christian Horner, who knows him well from his time at Red Bull, is taking on Vettel.

"I don't think we are seeing the real Sebastian Vettel at the moment. He is obviously having a difficult time with the product he has at the moment. But you can't take away anything he has achieved," Horner said at the press conference about the Ferrari driver.

"For whatever reason, things aren't working for him at the moment. I think any driver has to be happy in their environment and you can see that Sebastian is carrying a lot of weight on his shoulder," Horner continued.

"In his time at Red Bull he has achieved a lot and that is very special. He is the third most successful driver in the history of Formula 1. He has achieved many incredible things and set records that will remain for the time being," concludes the Red Bull Racing team boss.

In other words: Horner estimates that Vettel is totally out of place. Between the lines you can also read that his surroundings are no longer pleasant for the German, which of course is due to the upcoming departure. That the SF1000 therefore does not perform well, the whole atmosphere does not help of course.
