Christian Horner shared an unexpected post about Gianpiero Lambiase after the transfer of Red Bull Racing's current Head of Racing to McLaren was announced. This week, it was announced that
Max Verstappen’s race engineer, GP Lambiase, will join McLaren no later than the 2028
Formula 1 season, after his Red Bull Racing contract expires.
This marks the exit of another key Red Bull figure. Rob Marshall and Will Courteney have also joined McLaren, while Adrian Newey and Jonathan Wheatley, among others, left for different teams.
Horner was dismissed ahead of the 2025 Belgian Grand Prix, and replaced by Laurent Mekies.

On Instagram, the former Red Bull team boss shared multiple images. He began with Gianpiero Lambiase playing the drums at Silverstone, with the caption: "GP's hidden talent."
The next moments include
Stefano Domenicali and 1996
F1 world champion playing the guitar.
Horner also shows the 'Spice Boys' getting ready to sing, a reference to the group involving Horner’s wife, Geri. The group includes Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo,
Pierre Gasly, and Brendon Hartley.

As of this Thursday,
the Briton can once again work in the competition, as his nine-month gardening leave period has ended. It is standard practice in Formula 1 for teams to place employees on gardening leave to prevent them from joining a rival team immediately, in order to avoid sensitive information being transferred between teams.
However, GPblog understands that Horner will not return to Formula 1 before the summer break in any case. The earliest he is looking to do so is September, but even then there must be an opportunity for him. The options are very limited.
