Red Bull Racing have reached a special milestone at the Spanish GP, as the Austrian team competed at their 400th Grands Prix. Talking to PlanetF1, team principal Christian Horner looked ahead to what's next.

How does Horner see his future at Red Bull Racing?

The Briton has been with the team since the very beginning. Since Red Bull joined Formula 1, they have won eight drivers world titles with Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen, and six constructors' championships as well.
"You always have dreams in life and aspirations. But I think what has happened in the last 20 years is beyond all my wildest dreams and hopes. It’s been an incredible journey so far. 124 wins, 14 World Championships, 106 pole positions… "
"So we’re the most winning team in the 21st century. In a short space of time, we’ve done quite a lot, and it seems to have gone past very quickly!" he began looking back on the team's achievements so far.
The Briton also shared he is looking ahead to getting top of the current challenge Red Bull are dealing with.
“Obviously, over the years, I’ve had different approaches, and it’s always flattering to be associated with any other team as they’re all great teams. But my heart and soul are in this team. I’ve invested a big part of my life in it, and I feel a responsibility to the people."
“It’s a group of 2000 people, and I’m really excited about what the future holds in terms of building our own engine. That’s very much the next chapter for us, having it all under one roof," he continued, saying he will remain until he has the necessary motivation.

Horner flirting with Alpine

In an exclusive article, GPblog could reveal that the British team principal is seemingly preparing for his departure from Red Bull Racing.
According to our website, Horner had the unconditional support of Red Bull's Thai co-owner, Chalerm Yoovidhya, but that is now over.
Moreover, after Sergio Perez's unsuccessful contract extension, that cost the team 18 million euros, Horner can also no longer sign drivers to the team.
Looking at his options elsewhere, Alpine might be the destination, where he could work together with Flavio Briatore. Read about why that could be the ideal next destination here!
