Former F1 driver and race winner Riccardo Patrese believes that the paths of Christian Horner and Max Verstappen might cross again at Aston Martin.
“Horner could certainly go there and make a new Red Bull team at Aston Martin”

Speaking to a betting site, the six-time Grand Prix winner drew a parallel between Michael Schumacher’s departure from Benetton — which led to his move to Ferrari — and Christian Horner’s potential exit from Red Bull, suggesting that a switch to Aston Martin could allow him to recreate a similar environment shaped entirely in his own image.
“The Aston Martin speculation with Christian Horner reminds me of when Michael Schumacher left Benetton and went to Ferrari,” the Italian said.
“He took all the best pieces from Benetton to go to Ferrari to build a winning team and then become a world champion. Ross Brawn, Rory Byrne, all these guys that were Benetton with him and he took to Ferrari and then they built a team where he was five times world champion.

“I can see a similar situation happening with Verstappen. They talk for sure. If this is what he thinks it could happen, probably yes, Horner could certainly go there and make a new Red Bull team at Aston Martin”
According to Patrese, the rift between Christian Horner and Jos Verstappen wouldn’t be an insurmountable obstacle to a potential reunion with Max in the future: “If you divorce a wife, that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to have constant aggravation.”
“Maybe after two, three, four years, Christian and Jos become friends again. If there is this possibility to build a team that can go for the championship and Max could be the guy that wins again, I think Jos would stay to one side a little bit. As a father I should say, forget all my aggravation and let my son go and have the best opportunity.”

Steiner sees Horner in a different F1 role

After hanging up his helmet, the Leamington Spa-born Briton quickly turned his focus to the managerial side of motorsport.
From his early steps with his own team, Arden International, he went on to catch Red Bull’s attention, eventually becoming their Team Principal and CEO — building a true powerhouse that has since claimed 14 world titles between drivers and constructors.
While it might seem natural to imagine him returning to the paddock at the helm of another top team — or even as a shareholder, à la Toto Wolff — Guenther Steiner believes Horner would also be perfectly suited to a television pundit role.
