After not scoring points during the Sprint due to an error by the Red Bull pit crew, Max Verstappen claimed pole position for Sunday's Grand Prix in Miami. Team principal Christian Horner could only praise his driver.
After a disappointing result for the team at Saturday's Sprint, Verstappen managed to earn pole position. Only 0.065 seconds separated the Dutchman and Lando Norris.
"It's a day of two halves. The second half is better than the first half. Again a phenomenal job you know by Max and just nailing the perfect lap. He had a little bit of a wobble at Turn 1, but was able to keep the momentum going most importantly," Horner began to Viaplay after the session.
Once again, the team principal could only praise his driver. "And then he just nailed the last corner as well. I'm really impressed by him. It's the pole of the year."

Horner looks ahead to Sunday

After not scoring points in the Sprint and the McLaren driver claimed a one-two finish, Sunday's race will be key for the Dutchman in terms of the drivers' standings.
Looking ahead, Horner said: "Well, look, anything can happen. I mean, the weather we saw today came from nowhere and there's some weather around tomorrow as well. So, let's see. But there's no better place to be starting than on the front, the first position."
