Statistically, Lewis Hamilton is the greatest driver in the history of Formula 1. With seven world titles, over 100 Grand Prix victories and over 100 pole positions, the Brit is an icon of the sport. He has found success at most circuits on the Formula 1 calendar, but the Hungaroring is one of the best for Hamilton. He has won the Hungarian Grand Prix eight times and scored 271 points at the venue. He has only scored more points at Silverstone.
The Hungaroring is undergoing a major facelift. For example, work is underway on and around the main grandstand, which has now started in a snowy Mogyoród. The circuit's PR department has shared the first video of what it looks like on and around the track currently. It is hard to imagine F1 cars racing here again later this year.

Hungary is on the F1 calendar until 2032

The Hungarian Grand Prix is scheduled for Sunday, 21 July 2024. So setbacks in construction work are not an option. Improving the Hungaroring was one of Formula 1's requirements for whether or not to renew its contract with the circuit. A visit to the Hungaroring is on the F1 calendar until 2032 anyway.
