Has Mercedes pulled anything extra out of the Concorde Agreement?

All ten Formula 1 teams have signed the Concorde Agreement. For a moment it seemed that Mercedes would not sign, but they did. Toto Wolff's statements, however, made it look as if they had been presented with a new deal.

''At the end of the day, it remains a negotiation in which everyone has their own agenda and objectives. I spoke out because we are not as valued as we had hoped after the last seven years, but on the other hand you also think about the future of sport," Wolff said.

These statements, however, caused the rumours of possible additional clauses to flare up. In that interview, Wolff suggested that a new agreement had been made and that new compromises reached. Liberty Media firmly denies this, however.

''There were no additional negotiations. The only other compromise that has been made is the fact that Mercedes signed without compromise," said an insider from Liberty Media to Racefans.net.

Mercedes would have been dissatisfied with the distribution of revenue. For example, in the new Concorde Agreement Ferrari still has a preferential position despite Red Bull having the advantage of two teams.
