Lewis Hamilton is adamant to become world champion with Ferrari, thus dodging a fate fellow former champions before him could not escape at the Scuderia.
In conversation with media including GPblog, Hamilton revealed the meetings he'd held with Ferrari's top brass and the documents he'd sent to them as well, assessing the Scuderia's areas of opportunity.
Why? For the seven-time world champion it is clear. “The reason for it is that I see a huge amount of potential within this team," he said. "It is a huge organisation and there’s a lot of moving parts, and not all of them firing on all the cylinders they need to be."
“That’s ultimately why the team’s not had the success that I think it deserves," he explained. Hamilton has now taken it upon himself to question the powers that be at Ferrari.
"I feel that it’s my job to challenge absolutely every area, to challenge everybody in the team, particularly the guys at the top who are making the decisions."

'Hamilton does not want to become Ferrari's new Alonso'

That Ferrari has not won a drivers' or a constructors' championship in nearly two decades is not for a lack of drivers, Hamilton believes.
“If you look at the team over the last 20 years, they’ve had amazing drivers. They had Kimi [Raikkonen], they had Fernando [Alonso], they had Sebastian [Vettel], all World Champions."
"However, they didn’t win a World Champion[ship], and for me, I refuse for that to be the case, so I’m going the extra mile," added the 7-time world champion.

Hamilton sees new golden Ferrari era within reach, but the clock is ticking

The top Ferrari brass have been open to the feedback the world champion has issued in a bid to get the team fired up and strive for better, which he believes is achievable, but the Scuderia needs to get on it, as the Brit's time in F1 is running out.
“There’s lots of work and improvements to be made, but [they’ve been] very responsive and I guess ultimately trying to create allies within the organisation and get them geed up, get them pushing."
“I’m here to win, and I don’t have as much time as this one here [Andrea Kimi Antonelli] so it’s crunch time.
"For me I truly believe in the potential of this team. I really believe that they can win multiple World Championships. They already have an amazing legacy, but during my time that’s my sole goal."
