Aside from the sprint race in China, Ferrari has not been a ccontender for the win at any Grand Prix. But Lewis Hamilton hopes 'God' and the home crowd can help him nab a good result at the British Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen to Mercedes is not the only rumour that has taken hold of the paddock, with Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur's position being at risk, as reported by Italian media in recent weeks have also spread throughout the F1 community.
Hamilton resorts to hope and prayer amid Ferrari woes
Despite the Italian team's upturn in form last time out in Austria, Hamilton is not confident that his SF-25 can be driven to victory at his home race, the British Grand Prix. Nevertheless, the 7-time world champion still holds out for hope that Silverstone, the home-grown for some of his most scintillating wins can provided him with something extra.
"I'm hoping and praying, yes [for a better result at Silverstone]," said Hamilton to media present during media day of the British Grand Prix weekend, including GPblog.

"There's always magic here in Silverstone, so I don't really have to hope for that in the sense of the crowd, it's incredible. It's a very, very, very special place and it always provides a special race one way or the other."
The Briton sees that despite prayer and hope the weather might be pivotal to secure a good result for himself and Ferrari. "But I'm hoping that weather, all sorts of things can help us because we're obviously naturally not as quick as McLaren. So if it just stays dry, then we'll just walk the race."

For Hamilton F1 is more than just a numbers game: "I don't really look at those stats things so it's not something that affects me or I think about," he says.
"Of course we're in the Silverstone. It would be a great place to be able to change that. So that's what we're working towards," the Ferrari driver concluded.
