Hamilton not yet fully recovered from corona: 'But this is what drivers do'

Last week Lewis Hamilton had to miss the Sakhir Grand Prix because of the coronavirus. The seven-time world champion will now compete in the last race of the season, even though he's not quite better yet.
The fact that Hamilton doesn't carry the coronavirus anymore just doesn't mean that the Brit is completely cured. "I'm not a hundred percent better yet. I still have a feeling in my lungs, but I just keep going. Normally I would drive if one of my arms were hanging off. That's what we do as drivers and fortunately that's not the case. It's just not going to be one of the easiest physical races," the world champion said at the FIA press conference.

The seriousness of the virus

Although Hamilton is still suffering from the symptoms, he doesn't want to say much about his health and the consequences of the virus this weekend. "I don't want to go into too much detail about it. As I said in Australia, it's a serious virus and I can really empathize with those who have had it, those who still have it and those who have lost loved ones to it. I can understand how terrible the virus is," concludes Hamilton.
