Guenther Steiner on Haas' financial problems ahead of 2020

Reports are suggesting that Haas are under some financial difficulty after their poor 2019 season. The team lost their title sponsor Rich Energy and also finished the season 9th, meaning that they take a smaller cut of the F1's revenue.

“It’s a big loss, but we need to move forward and find new solutions and be more efficient than ever,” Steiner is quoted by Italia Racing.

“I think the team has worked well and made good progress. We are better prepared for 2020,” he said.

“We have to be more critical of ourselves,” Steiner said. “The drivers were not convinced of the updates we brought to Barcelona.

“No one had the courage to say that they were not working, because the car was fast, despite what the numbers indicated. But trusting was a mistake,” Steiner added.

Haas will hope to have made the necessary changes that will enable them to climb up the grid and get back into the midfield battle.
