After his pole position on Saturday, Charles Leclerc lost the victory at the Monaco Grand Prix. The Monegasque seemed to be well underway, but a strategic error by Ferrari caused Sergio Perez to take the lead from him.
Perez thus secured his first victory of the season. Carlos Sainz came close to the Mexican in the closing stages, but the Spaniard eventually had to make do with second place. Max Verstappen finished third after starting from P4.

Dramatic race for Leclerc

Leclerc is the big loser of the day with a P4 finish. George Russell again does good business for Mercedes with a fifth place, while Lewis Hamilton gained no positions and finished on P8. Lando Norris brings in points for McLaren with a sixth-place finish.
Valtteri Bottas and the Alpine drivers complete the top ten. Sebastian Vettel finished just outside the top ten despite Esteban Ocon's five-second time penalty. Mick Schumacher, Kevin Magnussen and Alexander Albon were the three dropouts in Monaco.
