"The arrival of 18-year-old drivers has made F1 banal" says Villeneuve

Jacques Villeneuve believes that Formula 1 does not have enough personalities and characters to be exciting and engaging for the fans. The former F1 driver thinks that having young drivers in the sport doesn't help as they have not had time to develop their personalities before being put in front of the cameras.

The Canadian believes that the big characters of the sport are starting to retire and before long there will be few personalities left in the sport.

"Of course. Fernando is a character, a gladiator of circuits, a driver with great personality and charisma," he said to GPFans.

Formula 1 are changing the regulations in order to try and make the sport more exciting but perhaps they need to develop some personalities to add to the drama of the racing.
