The thrilling season with Lando Norris and Max Verstappen battling for the world title has paid off handsomely for Formula 1. In 2025, Formula 1’s revenue rose by 14 percent to 3.9 billion dollars, according to the financial annual report from Liberty Media.
Profit jumped by 28 percent to 632 million dollars, which is a sign of how much Formula 1 is currently flourishing. Countries and cities are lining up to host a Grand Prix, paying ever-increasing fees each year. Nearly 27 percent of revenue comes from this source.
The largest revenue stream, however, is the money generated from media rights. In the UK, that’s from Sky Sports. In total, more than 31 percent of revenue in 2025 came from media rights. The money F1 collects through its own F1 TV is also the part of this revenue stream.

More fans, more viewers

Formula 1 reported in the annual review that the number of F1 fans who attended a Grand Prix in 2025 was 6.75 million, an increase of 4 percent compared to 2024. The number of TV viewers rose by 21 percent compared to 2024.
"Formula 1 finished another record-breaking season, marking an exceptional 75th anniversary year for the sport," said Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula 1.
"The next chapter of F1 brings on-track excitement with a new race in Madrid, the debut of Cadillac and Audi and the return of Honda and Ford to the grid.
"This upcoming season is a thrilling time for our sport as we introduce the next generation of cars, engines and regulations that are sure to make for dynamic racing and compelling storylines"
