Max Verstappen finished in ninth place in the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Dutchman had a difficult weekend in his Red Bull, with a car that struggled at the Hungaroring. Viaplay analyst Tom Kristensen also saw that Verstappen was struggling, but was nevertheless impressed by the Dutchman. In the
F1 Nation podcast
, Kristensen, a former Le Mans winner, reflected on
Verstappen's race and spoke highly of the Dutchman:
"I think he did a great Grand Prix again. He is always phenomenal in the races, but he didn't find the times, and especially also not the durability in the race, but the overtaking, the placement, and racing, and also the intensity in his radio communication."Kristensen was full of praise for Verstappen in Hungary, Red Bull Contentpool
Kristensen meant the calm answers that Verstappen gave: "He's actually a bit more calm here. You know, at one stage, he was asked 'Max, we probably need to let you finish with this set of tyres' and he said 'That's probably a little bit too much to ask.' I think that was his response. That's not the response of Max Verstappen. Normally, that's a bit more."
The summer break is now underway after Hungarian GP
The Hungarian Grand Prix was the last race before the summer break.
After the summer break, the F1 circus will head to Zandvoort. There, the Dutch Grand Prix will be run for the penultimate time. Kristensen was of the opinion that Verstappen will do everything to win his home event:
"He will have a summer holiday and he'll come back. Whenever he goes in a car, the car will go as fast as it can."
