A former engineer for Ferrari has said that Sebastian Vettel should be Charles Leclerc's number 2 driver at Ferrari, as the German makes "so many mistakes".
Vettel's latest error was a pretty costly one, his crash with Max Verstappen at the British Grand Prix saw him throw away a potential podium place, eventually finishing down in P16.
Luca Baldisserri, who used to engineer for Ferrari, said on Italian podcast Pit-Talk: “I think Vettel is an overrated driver and not Schumacher’s heir, he has made so many mistakes and must rediscover himself.
“But he is still a driver who has won four titles. If Leclerc keeps maturing and becomes the top driver, he will still need a teammate who can support and help him.
“I believe from that point of view that Vettel has the experience to be a high level teammate.”
