The race in Formula 3 has not yet resulted in a new champion. After a chaotic rainy race, Ferrari junior Rafael Camara has managed to secure the championship. The race was characterized by the chaos at the start, with two safety cars making an appearance.
The race began with a rolling start. Championship leader Rafael Camara was allowed to set the pace from pole position.
The Brazilian got off to a good start and quickly created a gap. However, this didn't last long, as a safety car was quickly on the scene, after Benavides ended up in the wall. Once the race restarted after a few rounds, there was another safety car within no time. Gerrard Xie collided with Ugo Ugocukwu, who was still on the podium during the sprint yesterday.

Tsolov falls short in the battle for the title

The track seemed to dry up quickly, but it was still too wet to switch to slicks. Due to the two safety cars, there were not a number of rounds driven, but a time clock was set, within which the race had to be finished.
Nikola Tsolov ultimately fell just short. Eventually, Rafael Camara managed to maintain the lead, thus securing the championship. Dutchman Laurens van Hoepen raced a fine catch-up race and achieved the eighth place.

Camara follows in the footsteps of F1 drivers

With his championship, Camara follows in the footsteps of some Formula 1 drivers. Among others, Oscar Piastri and Gabriel Bortoleto, who won the F3 championship respectively in 2020 and 2023.
