Max Verstappen will start eighth in the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Dutchman was out of the running all weekend due to a lack of grip in his Red Bull. Peter Windsor analyzed Verstappen's qualifying and saw how the driver's Dutch traits shone through. Windsor looked back on the qualifying in
the analysis on his YouTube channel and saw how Verstappen came to the fore.
Where the Dutchman was realistic afterwards, the
F1 analyst saw how Verstappen could be himself in the final part of the qualification.
Scrappy day for Red Bull, claims Windsor
Windsor explained: ''Red Bull (had) a scrappy day, but it kind of started to gather momentum as these conditions changed and Max was able to do more as a driver, as distinct from just living with everything that was going on with the car, the tyres overheating, no grip at the front, no grip at the rear, driving on ice, all the stuff he's been talking about.''

''But as qualifying went into the last moments of Q3, he did get a bit more grip I think when the temperature went down.''
''And with the crosswinds, and there would have been crosswinds at certain moments, and certainly with the westerly, he had a different car. And he could be Max Verstappen a little bit, just showing what he can do with all those tools that he has at his fingertips.''
