Oliver Bearman's unexpected comeback following Kevin Magnussen's illness at the Brazilian Grand Prix has put Ferrari and Haas F1 in a tricky package. The British youngster drove his third Grand Prix at the Interlagos circuit, meaning he cannot be used as a rookie during free practice or during the post-season Young Driver Test in Abu Dhabi.
Ferrari, who have yet to place a rookie in their car for free practice this season, is now said to have a driver in mind to comply with the regulations. According to Italian media, the Italian racing team plan to have Antonio Fuoco drive, at least during the first free practice session prior to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Fuoco very successful in WEC

Fuoco is an experienced driver who has been in action for Ferrari several times before during post F1 season testing. For instance, the former Formula 2 driver was active at the Yas Marina circuit in 2020 and 2021. Fuoco has been part of the Ferrari Driver Academy in the past, and was a test and reserve driver for the Dragon team in Formula E in the 2018-2019 season.
His biggest success to date was achieved in the World Endurance Championship. In the season just concluded, he finished second in the championship with Ferrari's hypercar. The highlight was winning the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.
