Racing legend Mario Andretti has declared himself a Charles Leclerc fan, to whom he'd offer an open-armed welcome at Cadillac, should the Monégasque choose to leave Ferrari. The Scuderia's team principal though, was not as lucky as his star driver in the American icon's assessment. If he really wanted to change teams one day, I'd take him to Cadillac straight away.
- Mario Andretti.Ferrari's 2025 season has been a a disappointing one, the team themselves have admitted. However, not due to the drivers, with Leclerc and teammate Lewis Hamilton often being handicapped by Ferrari's reliability weaknesses or the fundamental issues attached to the concept chosen for their current car.
As such the Italians are currently facing a potential plunge from P2 to P4 in the Constructors' as Red Bull Racing and Mercedes have apparently found the missing link to understanding how to make the most out of their respective cars, with Ferrari still unable to capitalise on the potential they believe is in the car. Regardless, the Monégasque has provided all of the Scuderia's five podiums this season, with Hamilton's only podium visits coming during the sprint parts of the Chinese and Miami Grands Prix weekend.

Speaking to Corriere della Sera, Andretti admitted he has a soft spot for Leclerc. "I'm a big fan of Leclerc," he said. "If he really wanted to change teams one day, I'd take him to Cadillac straight away." A sentiment that Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, new incumbent Cadillac drivers, might not take so well.
The Italian's darling team, Ferrari, currently finds himself going through a seemingly neverending slump that has prompted reports of increased tension and internal conflicts. However, Andretti's love for the Maranello-based squad is not 'so easily' swayed.
He said: "Ferrari is Ferrari, and sooner or later it will come back. Always."
Shortly afterwards, Andretti was asked if he'd lost a faith in Vasseur. His response, short, swift and hard-hitting was delivered in a one-word answer: "Yes."

Is Leclerc's loyalty to Ferrari wavering?
Recently rumours surfaced suggesting Leclerc was interested in a change of scenery. Said interest reportedly resulted in talks with three different teams. However
GPblog understands that the conversations held by the Monégasque's entourage, headed by Nicolas Todt,
were not about him at all, but were instead with regard to F3 driver Martin Stenshorne.Nevertheless,
Todt did urge Ferrari to finally produce capable of fighting for the title, warning that for 2027 de drivers' market could get very hot.
