F2 champion Pourchaire to replace injured IndyCar driver again

Theo Pourchaire will continue to drive IndyCar on behalf of Arrow McLaren for the time being. The Formula 2 champion recently made his debut in the American racing class and managed to impress immediately.

Pourchaire was asked to join Arrow McLaren in the No. 6 Chevrolet as a replacement for the injured David Malukas. Normally Callum Ilott would be his replacement, but he had commitments in the WEC with the 6 Hours of Imola. The 2023 F2 champion immediately impressed by crossing the line in 11th place at Long Beach.

The 20-year-old Frenchman will also take a seat behind the wheel of the No 6 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet during the Children's of Alabama Indy Grand Prix at Barber Motorsports Park, which he shares with teammates Pato O'Ward and Alexander Rossi. The race is scheduled for Sunday 28 April.

With that, Pourchaire once again acts as a replacement for the injured Malukas, who is still recovering from surgery on his left wrist. He sustained the injury during a mountain biking accident prior to the new racing season.
