Leclerc tops FP1 and FP2 at home Grand Prix

It was a day Ferrari have been waiting for, after a rather difficult to the season by the Maranello-based team. Charles Leclerc managed to top the first session even with two broken front wings, and he also set the fastest time in FP2.
Lewis Hamilton also did well in the second session, finishing third behind his teammate and Oscar Piastri. What was encouraging for the Italian team is that both drivers could be towards the top on all three compounds during FP2. The British driver also explained that he does not need to change much on his car ahead of Saturday's sessions.
Two grid penalties were handed out by the stewards this Friday. In FP1, Lance Stroll received a one-place grid penalty for his crash with Leclerc in ahead of the hairpin.
Moreover, Oliver Bearman had to deal with difficult news. The British rookie received a ten-place grid penalty for a red flag infringement. The Haas driver overtook Carlos Sainz, and the stewards decided to penalise him, explaining he should have stayed behind.
