In amongst the Golden Globe nominations and the global success of F1: The Movie both commercially and critically, there are rumours circulating about a sequel in production. Jerry Bruckheimer, who directed F1: The Movie, confirmed recently that discussions are starting to take place.
Bruckheimer, speaking to Forbes, confirmed:
"We met with Lewis Hamilton a couple of weeks ago, and started talking about some ideas." Alongside racing in F1, Hamilton also served as a producer for F1: The Movie.
Speaking about what it takes to accurately portray F1 cars in a film, Bruckheimer stated: "If you’re going to make a movie about F1, then you had better do it for real, and that’s what Joe and our whole team wanted to do."
Bruckheimer continued:
"They {the team}
spent four months training in these cars, starting with an F4, then an F2, and finally our car. It was an experience that we couldn't have done without F1. Stefano Domenicali {who}
is the President and CEO of Formula 1, really leaned in and helped make this movie as authentic as possible so we could travel to nine different tracks."The Golden Globes ceremony takes place on January 11th, 2026.
