Let’s take a look at the times and schedule for the Dutch GP, the first race after the summer break and the home race for local hero Max Verstappen. There are still two weeks left of the summer break, but fans are already eager for
Formula 1 action, despite McLaren’s clear dominance this season.
After 14 of the 24 Grands Prix have been contested, the team led by Andrea Stella and Zak Brown sits on 559 points in the Constructors’ Championship — more than double Ferrari’s tally of 260, which is only slightly ahead of Mercedes and Red Bull.
The next round will be in the Netherlands, the home race for Max Verstappen since the Dutch circuit returned in 2021. It is also, for now, the penultimate edition, alongside next year’s event.
The
Zandvoort circuit is known for its twisty layout, but especially for two corners in particular — turns 7 and 14 — where the banking reaches nearly 20 degrees.
From 2021 to 2023, the four-time world champion managed to claim victory in front of his home fans three years in a row, only to see the streak broken last year by Lando Norris, who, despite a poor start, overtook his championship rival and won by a comfortable margin.
This year, Verstappen heads to
Zandvoort aiming to perform well in front of his home fans and secure at least a podium finish. A victory will be tough, considering Red Bull’s struggles in recent races and, above all, the increasingly dominant MCL-39.
Unlike the last three editions, which featured the sprint format, this year the Dutch GP will return to the traditional schedule: two practice sessions on Friday, FP3 and qualifying on Saturday, and the main race on Sunday.
