A total of five drivers received penalty points in Brazil, the most notable recipient being Oscar Piastri for his collision with Kimi Antonelli. Piastri was given a 10-second penalty and two penalty points after
the stewards judged him to be 'wholly responsible' for the turn one collision which pitted Antonelli's Mercedes into Charles Leclerc, who subsequently retired from the race.
Piastri has now amassed six penalty points in the last 12 months, but he was not the only driver to receive penalty points in Brazil
Five drivers penalised
Despite another stellar weekend and a P6 finish in the Brazil GP,
Oliver Bearman received a penalty point for his accident with
Liam Lawson in the Sprint.
Bearman has the most penalty points of any driver with nine and is nearing the limit of 12, which would see him receive a one-race ban.
Kevin Magnussen is the only driver to have ever reached the 12-points threshold and was banned for the 2024 Azerbaijan GP as a result. Ironically, Bearman was his replacement.
Lawson also received a penalty point for the collision with Bearman.
Lewis Hamilton received one penalty point for his collision with Franco Colapinto when he misjudged the distance in front of his car and ran into the back of the Argentine driver.

Yuki Tsunoda was the final driver to receive penalty points, earning two for his collision with Lance Stroll.
