George Russell topped the timing sheets duyring FP3 for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen in P2 and Alexander Albon in P3. The original difficulties offered by the Las Vegas Street Circuit were amplified as mixed conditions took over and forced drivers to drive on intermediate tyres.
Piastri led the session initially before Lewis Hamilton took over ahead of Max Verstappen, with Lando Norris down in P4 and his McLaren teammate in P3.
The landscape of the pecking order had once again changed on the third session, having been seriously revamped in FP2 as well. On Saturday afternoon this happened at Ferrari with Hamilton mastering the tricky conditions in P2 and Charles Leclerc down in P10.
At the half hour mark Norris was the first to put the soft tyres on, as Antonelli kept improving on the intermediate tyres. The British McLaren driverfailed toimprove on the fastest time he set on the inters in the first few laps, but pace was evidently picking up, encouraging the rest of the teams to do the same.
Hamilton, after surviving a near-miss with Lawson, took the lead, but only momentarily as a number of drivers - the seven-time world champion included - would all take their turn at the top as the track continued to evolve quickly.
George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli then leapt to P2 and P5 respectively, with the British driver closing the gap to Verstappen down to 0.088s.
The times began to tumble as Lawson, Russell and Albon all exchanged the top spot.
