Kimi Antonelli has revealed he would love to race alongside Max Verstappen in GT3 events following the Dutch driver’s announcement to compete in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. “I would love to do an endurance race with Max together. I think that would be pretty awesome.”
- Kimi AntonelliWhen asked about Verstappen’s participation in the series and whether he might consider a similar endeavour, the Mercedes driver did not hide his excitement, explaining how much he would relish sharing a car with the
Red Bull Racing driver.
“That would be super cool. I would love to do an endurance race with Max. I think that would be pretty awesome. It's great because, you know, we both share a passion for GTs. On my side, it came from my dad, obviously with the GT team, and occasionally, I go and test when I can. Max as well, he's been really enjoying it,” Antonelli said to GPblog.
“It's really cool for him to do the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. I think it's going to be a really great event, and I'll definitely be watching it. But it's something that, in the future, I would really like to race with him in an endurance event. It would be a really cool pairing, and I think it would be an amazing experience. It's something I've been considering as well,” Antonelli added.

The Italian driver further revealed he has already inquired about testing at the legendary Nordschleife, expressing his eagerness to experience the “Green Hell” in real life.
“I've already asked about doing a test at the Nordschleife, for example, because it's a track that I love, and I would really love to be able to try it in the real world as well,” he concluded.
Verstappen brought the Nordschleife to its feet last year when
he took to the iconic circuit to win a GT3 race alongside Chris Lulham, driving the Ferrari 296 GT3 for Emil Frey Racing.
The four-time world champion has since doubled down on his endurance racing adventure, and earlier this week, he announced his entry into the 24 Hours of Nürburgring race.
Antonelli follows Verstappen’s lead with pseudonym at karting series
The Italian driver, who took part in the SODI D40 go-karting endurance race, competed under the pseudonym Henry Shovlin.
The Milton Keynes event saw the
Formula 1 driver record the fastest lap by over three seconds in the wet. Antonelli’s benchmark lap time of 1:24.5 was also over five seconds quicker than that of Williams Racing driver Alex Albon, who had previously raced at the event in similar wet conditions.
