Drivers’ standings, as Russell extends championship lead in China

George Russell extended his lead atop the drivers’ standings following his victory at the Chinese Grand Prix Sprint.
The Mercedes driver added four extra points ahead of his teammate Kimi Antonelli, who managed only fifth place at the Shanghai shootout.
Scuderia Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton also added to their season tally, with respective podium finishes at the 19-lap event.
Reigning world champion Lando Norris added five more points to his tally with a fourth-place finish, while teammate Oscar Piastri recorded his first points of the season with sixth place.

Neither Max Verstappen nor Red Bull compatriot, Isack Hadjar, recorded points through the session, while Liam Lawson came home with his first points of the campaign, adding two points after finishing seventh, and the final points-scoring position was claimed by Oliver Bearman, who added to his six points from Australia.
