Drivers over the moon with race in Vegas: 'Now I won't retire'

The long-awaited Grand Prix in Las Vegas was officially announced by Formula 1 on Thursday morning. The drivers were told a little earlier and gave their first reaction in a video.

They are told for the first time that they will be racing a night race down the Strip in Vegas during the 2023 Formula One season. Many drivers react in disbelief. For example, Pierre Gasly simply cannot believe it and Carlos Sainz asks if this is really true?

Sebastian Vettel thinks that some drivers will dive into the casino and then hope to win back the money lost during the race. According to Max Verstappen, it would also be nice if this race does not come after another race or is directly followed by another race. ''Some drivers might not even wake up in time for the race.''

Daniel Ricciardo makes it even more bonkers: ''I was actually going to retire, but not now,'' the Australian concludes.
