Disgruntled Gasly 'enters discussion with FIA': 'I just don't understand'

Alpine driver Pierre Gasly says he understands quite few of the FIA's rules. The Frenchman feels the rules are not black and white. In the race, Gasly was on track battling Haas driver Kevin Magnussen, who the Frenchman says was quite feisty in the duels. He lashed out fiercely at the FIA.

The Alpine driver drove his car to sixth place at the Singapore Grand Prix, partly due to the failure of teammate Esteban Ocon. On the track, Gasly was up against Magnussen, among others, who was rather feisty.

"It could be down to the way I look at it, I don't know. Anyway, I will start discussing this [with the FIA], because I don't quite understand it," Gasly told Motorsport.com after the race. "I’m not going to open the topic – it’s just, make it black and white," Gasly said, addressing the FIA on double standards.

"I don't quite understand the rules. I did read them and know the rules, but they don't always translate to what happens on the track. To be honest, it didn't affect my race. I got the maximum out of it so that's fine, but a few times it felt a bit unfair to me," Gasly said.
