After Christian Horner's dismissal as Red Bull CEO and team principal, there's been constant rumours putting him up as potential team boss at various F1 teams, however, most options have been ruled out since, and now another team withdraws its name from the list. Following the British Grand Prix Red Bull announced Horner's axing from his roles within the Red Bull organisation.
Shortly after that many rumours swirled with the Briton potentially taking the helm at Ferrari. This was quickly thrown out the window with current team principal Frederic Vasseur's renewal.
Cadillac was then thrown into the mix as well, but this was snubbed by the team's CEO Dan Towriss at the American team's driver lineup announcement.
Alpine stops Horner rumours in its tracks
Alpine however, was a team that given the Brit's friendship with executive advisor
Flavio Briatore, seemed like the most realistic choice for Horner to make an F1 comeback, albeit not as team boss but as potential owner, as several reports indicated that the Briton would not want to be merely a team principal anymore.
When asked regarding the subject during the Dutch Grand Prix weekend, the Italian quickly dismissed these claims.
"I'm not considering at this moment anything. Christian is not in Formula 1 at this moment anymore, I hope he can come back soon. But for the moment he is not in the picture of that team."
