Historic Michael Schumacher Ferrari suit set for blockbuster Monza auction

The Driver Lounge has renewed its partnership with renowned auction house Bonhams to host a dedicated online auction straight from the exclusive Schumacher Lounge hospitality suite at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza.

The headline lot of the sale is an authentic, race-worn Michael Schumacher Ferrari suit from the 2000 German Grand Prix. The piece originates from the historic campaign where the German icon claimed his first Drivers' World Championship for Scuderia Ferrari, ending the Maranello squad's 21-year title drought.

Featuring iconic period sponsor branding and internal race markings, the suit is anticipated to command intense bidding well into six-figure territory.

The catalogue also boasts several other historic Schumacher items spanning pivotal stages of his career, including his race overalls from both the 1997 Australian Grand Prix and the 1998 San Marino Grand Prix.

Additionally, the collection features a race-worn suit from former Ferrari teammate Rubens Barrichello, dating back to his pole-position outing at the 2002 Australian Grand Prix.

Bridging Formula 1's storied golden eras with the modern grid, the auction showcases race gear donated by current stars. Highlights include race suits used by Mercedes rookie sensation Kimi Antonelli during the 2025 Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix, as well as Lando Norris's race-worn overalls from his 2025 Monza Grand Prix victory during his world championship-winning season.

Proceeds generated from the auction will directly benefit the Keep Fighting Foundation, a global charitable initiative inspired by Michael Schumacher that continues the philanthropic work close to the seven-time champion's heart.

Ferrari will run a one-off Schumacher-inspired livery at Monza, featuring retro numbers, gold-accented rims, Schumacher’s logo and seven stars on the nose to mark 30 years since he joined in 1996.

The tribute extends to trackside displays of the F310, F2002 and 248 F1, with Rubens Barrichello and Sebastian Vettel set to drive the F2002 over the weekend.
