The current deal for the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona ends after the 2019 race, but Chase Carey has today said he has no intentions of dropping the circuit from the calendar.
Despite this, he still confirmed that there are other possibilities.
“It’s not the only circuit in Spain,” Chase said.
“Very soon we will begin to see if we can find a path that benefits us both. Our goal is to reach a new agreement with Barcelona.
“We want to be in Barcelona in the long term.”

Barcelona is also where the majority of testing, including the winter testing, takes place. It is also a more traditional circuit.
