Formula 1 is going to undergo a major overhaul next season, which should bring teams closer together. Due to new technical regulations, there is a fear that teams will have little room to design something special, but Ross Brawn thinks that this is not the case.
The sporting director of Formula 1 is proud of the concept that the sport launched last week. Brawn and his team are said to have run 7,500 computer simulations on the idea, which should make it easier for drivers to follow their predecessor and make overtakes. This should have a positive effect on the whole sport.
Christian Horner, amongst others, criticised the launched concept. The Red Bull Racing team boss fears that teams will have little room to do things differently in terms of design. Brawn disagrees. "There is certainly still room for individual interpretation. There won't be ten identical cars on the grid," he told Formule1.nl.
"We have based our decisions purely on the facts."
