Cowell, who has held the role of CEO since October 2024 and team principal in January, revealed Aston Martin’s outlandish goals in an interview on the team’s YouTube channel.
He claimed that he is confident Aston Martin will achieve the goal of winning back-to-back championships, and his vision is to “get to the top and then stay at the top”.

The former Racing Point outfit became Aston Martin in 2021, and since then, they have made several high-profile signings, including managing technical partner Adrian Newey and chief technical officer Enrico Cardile.
The Silverstone-based team also boast a brand-new factory with facilities like a new wind tunnel that became operational earlier in 2025.
Cowell was questioned about the secret to keeping everyone happy, to which he replied: “Honesty, and don’t overpromise, and make sure we’ve got a single focus – the race car.
“It all comes back to the race car, so what are we all going to do for the race car?
“Set big, big goals; set goals that everybody thinks are impossible, but then make it possible, and that’s teamwork.
“The vision to get to the top and then stay at the top. Coming up with those tough targets, ‘BHAGs’, I like to call them.”
He was asked what his ‘BHAGs’ or ‘Big Hairy Audacious Goals’ were, to which Cowell answered: “To win multiple championships, back-to-back.
“That’s what we’re striving to do, and yes, it will happen.”

With achieving consecutive titles is Cowell’s ‘BHAG’, he also revealed what greatness looks like for the team in terms of the process.
“Teamwork,” he explained. “It’s an engineering business, working as a team, for the good of that race car.”
“Let’s have that hunger; there isn’t a single day where I feel like I’ve achieved enough.”
Aston Martin sits in seventh place in the Constructors’ Championship on 69 points, three points behind Racing Bulls in a tight midfield battle.
They are currently 634 points off champions McLaren, heading into the Brazilian Grand Prix.
