Lance Stroll has delivered a gloomy assessment of the battery issues troubling the Aston Martin F1 Team ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix.
“I think it's very fragile…”

The Canadian driver, who spoke to GPblog ahead of the start of the Chinese Grand Prix weekend, was with little optimism about the prospect of the Aston Martin outfit in Shanghai. Specifically flagging the woes with the batteries, which the Silverstone outfit have stressed are particularly limited, Stroll acknowledged how fragile the issue remains.
“I think it's very fragile, the situation with the batteries, but probably someone knows the facts a lot better than me.”
When asked whether the team’s battery supply would allow them to complete the required laps in FP1 and the remainder of the weekend, Stroll admitted he had yet to receive a full update on the situation ahead of the race.

“I didn't get the update on the situation yet entirely, so I'll know more at the end of the day,” he added.
The Aston Martin team have continued to grapple with several problems relating to its power unit through the start of the new Formula 1 regulations. Last time out in Australia, the team failed to complete the race with neither Stroll nor teammate Fernando Alonso, as both drivers were called into the pits at several intervals due to issues relating to their power unit.

Alonso expects Aston Martin troubles to continue in China

The two-time world champion, however, detailed how the team must continue to try out different solutions to overcome its difficult situation.
